I've touched on the importance of natural beauty products in my natural deodorant's blog post but I haven't ventured into the world of pure, natural skincare until recently.
Natural skincare is always something I've wanted to get more into because I hate the idea of putting harsh chemicals and nasties on my delicate skin that my body will absorb, I mean...I get one face so I want to take care of it! I just never knew where to start, which companies to trust and I haven't got the money to splash out on super expensive products. This is where Simplicite comes in.
Simplicite offer's a range of plant based, natural, nourishing skin care products that use only the highest quality ingredients from only sources. Their whole range is hand made in small batches to ensure maximum freshness and purity for your skin, all the ingredients are natural and gentle and none of the products have ever been tested on animals. I was sent 3 of their products to trial a little while ago, so I thought it was about time I give you my thoughts on this all-natural skincare!
I'm always wary of trying new skincare products; I was quite happy with how my skincare routine was working for me and my skin is rather sensitive so I get afraid new products will cause breakouts, irritation or dryness. However, as I'd been wanting to try 100% natural skincare for so long and as it's so important to me I decided to take the risk and try this brand out.....and I'm so happy I did!
I've been using the Hydrating Floral Toning Lotion, the Firming Rehydration Eye Creme and the Lemon Night Cream for a couple of months now and I really love how they all work for me.
The hydrating floral toner (£12.99) is a super nutrient rich, purifying toner that feels soothing and hydrating on the skin. I spill apply one pump to a cotton pad and smooth it over my face post-cleansing and leave it to work it's magic for 5 minutes before applying night cream over the top. The toner is said to reduce inflammation, calm the complexion and eliminate redness which I believe to be true! Whenever my skin's feeling a little angry this toner seems to calm it down and promote glowing, smooth skin once again. It does smell quite floral but it's not at all over powering which I'm happy about! The ingredients include fresh chamomile flower, lemon balm beaf, alfalfa, olive leaf, elderflower, sweet orange and turmeric.....you can't get any more natural than that!
The Firming Rehydration Eye Creme (£29.14) is one I was a little nervous about trying because the skin around my eyes is extremely sensitive - every eye cream I've ever used has caused the eyes to either go uber puffy and/or red and unbearably sore. I've been using the eye cream every other day and it seems to be just fine! I haven't noticed any difference in the hydration around my eyes but I think it's helped with puffiness, which I am prone to. It feels refreshing and delicate on the skin and it's been a welcome added step in my skincare routine and a product I'd definitely recommend trying if, like me, you suffer with sensitive skin around the eyes. Again, the ingredients are completely natural with no parabens or alcohol.
Last but not least is the Lemon Night Cream (£26) which is actually my favourite of the 3 products. Firstly, the smell is gorgeous - yes, it smells of lemon but it's not that sickly, fake lemon smell you often get in cosmetics products but it smells fresh, zingy and delicious! It's rich but not heavy, moisturising but not greasy and really does make my skin look more radiant come morning time. This night cream hasn't clogged by pores, caused any breakouts and my skin feels super moisturised and soft. Love it! Once again, the ingredients couldn't be any more natural - there's almond, avocado, lemon, grapefruit, cedarwood, pumpkin seed, carrot, natural vitamin E, linseed, bergamot, sweet orange, sage and more amazing ingredients that will do your skin so much good.
