Why I Love Pumpkin Seeds


Happy Halloween!
I figured the season of pumpkins is the perfect time to talk to you about my love for pumpkin seeds, why I eat them every day and why I think you should too.

I put pumpkin seeds on everything from porridge to toast and smoothie bowls to salads - I've got quite the obsession with them, not just because they taste delicious and add such a yummy crunch to any dish but because they're absolutely loaded with essential nutrients.



Magnesium
Pumpkin seeds are really high in all important magnesium which has a wide range of health benefits to your precious body - including the creation of energy molecules, DNA synthesis and bone formation...so it's pretty vital!


Zinc
Pumpkin seeds are rich in zinc which is used in the body to boost immunity, regulate your mood, balance out your insulin levels, boost your energy levels and give you glowing, healthy skin. Zinc deficiency is associated with chronic fatigue, depression and acne.

Omega-3 Fatty Acids
Pumpkin seeds are one of the best sources of plant-based omega-3s, these healthy fats are really important for heart health, they regulate cholesterol levels and have a great impact on brain health.

Anti-Inflammatory
Pumpkin seeds have been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects in the body which reduces your risk of developing all sorts of diseases such as arthritis, IBS and even cancer.


So, you see pumpkin seeds are a real superfood full of incredible vitamins and minerals to not only boost your physical health but your mental health too!
