Cinnamon, Raisin & Almond Granola


This Cinnamon, Raisin & Almond Granola is a new recipe creation of mine but it's fast become one of my favourites! I'm a granola fiend and if I buy a box of it I can assure you it won't last long - I sprinkle it on yogurt, I enjoy a big bowl for breakfast, I snack on it and I top smoothie bowls with it.
If you're a granola obsessive like me, making your own homemade granola is a good way to ensure you're not consuming artificial and refined sweeteners, excess oils or potentially harmful ingredients!

This granola recipe is completely natural and full of amazing ingredients that both taste delicious and make you feel incredible.



Cinnamon and raisin is such a classic combination and the added almonds gives an amazing crunch and texture that makes this recipe such a winner. The almonds boost your protein intake as well as important vitamin E. The oats are bursting with fibre which will help keep you full and your digestion ticking over. The raisins add an incredible sweetness and juicy texture to this granola which is paired perfectly with the cinnamon which helps to maintain steady blood sugar levels! 
This granola really does taste so much better than any shop-bought product, it's quick and easy to make, the ingredients are inexpensive and it'll do your beautiful body the world of good!

Electrolytes - What They Are & Natural Sources


'Electrolytes' you've probably heard that word before but do you know what they are, why they are important and where to get them?
Electrolytes are generally associated with dehydration, any time your body loses fluids you'll also lose electrolytes, which is why restoring them is very important! Many energy and sports drinks promise to deliver big doses of electrolytes but knowing the natural sources of them is much more beneficial and a lot better for you.


What Are Electrolytes? 
Electrolytes are a type of mineral that carries an electric charge through the body and are essential in order for us to survive! Electrolytes regulate our nerve and muscle function, our body's hydration, blood pH and blood pressure. In our bodies, electrolytes include calcium, sodium, magnesium and chloride. Wrong electrolyte levels can lead to either weak muscles, or muscles that contract too severely. The level of an electrolyte in the blood can become too high or too low, and this tends to happen when water levels in the body change. When we exercise we sweat and lose electrolytes, mainly sodium and potassium and these need to be replenished to restore electrolyte balance.

Quinoa Stuffed Butternut Squash


Butternut squash is one of my favourite winter vegetables and I love incorporating it into dishes such as curries, salads and even making butternut squash wedges but I recently I cooked butternut squash in a new way and it turned out so wonderfully I felt obliged to share it with all of you!

This recipe for baked butternut squash stuffed with quinoa and veggies is an amazing one if you're craving something satisfying, filling, nourishing, comforting and full of flavour. It's surprisingly easy to make, doesn't require any fancy or hard to source ingredients and most importantly it tastes yummy!


Butternut squash has the most amazing natural flavour that means you only need a little olive oil, dried herbs, salt & pepper to make it something truly special! When baked in the oven it becomes beautifully tender, sweet and mouth-wateringly moreish. I then stuffed the roasted squash with simple yet flavoursome quinoa, courgette, onion and tomato all seasoned with lemon juice, coriander, paprika, salt and pepper. See....super simple but super tasty!

Butternut squash doesn't just taste good, it's loaded with goodness! It's packed full of immune-boosting vitamin A and C, contains healthy fibre and is also a good source of vitamin B6, B2 and K. Butternut squash is high in anti-oxidants and has anti-inflammatory benefits - always a good thing! So, eating this seasonal vegetable alongside the protein packed quinoa will really give your body a boost and leave you feeling energised, nourished and ready to conquer the world.

Good Berries Baked Doughnuts (Vegan & Gluten Free)


Eating healthy doughnuts would just be a dream, wouldn't it? Well, thanks to this recipe that dream can be a reality! 

My delicious, gluten free, vegan, refined sugar free baked doughnuts are the perfect indulgent, comforting treat without any of the nasty ingredients. What makes them even more incredible is the creamy cashew frosting on top which is given this beautiful purple colour thanks to the Good Berries Superfood Powder by The Good Guru!


The dough for these doughnuts is entirely gluten free, vegan and super easy to make. You'll need buckwheat flour which is a naturally gluten free flour, ground almonds which provide you with healthy fats and protein, some flaxseed which help to bind the ingredients together and give you a boost of omega-3, maple syrup for natural sweetness, coconut oil and vanilla extract. All natural, all delicious!

The real game-changer in this recipe is the cashew frosting. I love cashew frosting - it's so creamy
and so tasty! I added The Good Guru's Berry Powder to the cashew frosting which is what really makes it. The Good Berries Powder is a blend of five different berries (blueberries, blackberries, cranberries, raspberries and strawberries) which are freeze-dried to maintain all their natural nutrients, anti-oxidants and amazing taste. Top Tip On Setting Achievable Goals in 2017


January is a time many people set goals and ambitions for the coming year but more often than not we end up forgetting about them, getting too overwhelmed or simply just giving up before the first month of the year is even over. There are many tips and tricks on how to stay more focused on your new years resolutions but today I thought I'd share with you one piece of advice that will make achieving your 2017 more likely and they'll be a lot more manageable too.


Before I get started, have a little think about your 2017 resolutions and make sure they're both achievable and healthy. By this I mean don't aim to drop 2 dress sizes within a week and don't focus on superficial targets, but rather opt for goals like eating more fresh, whole foods and working out at least 3 days a week. Once you've set these smart goals then you're ready to hear my top tip on how to reach them!

It's simple...pick 1 resolution every month to focus on!
Part of the reason we give up with our new years resolutions so quickly is because we become too overwhelmed by the mass of goals we've set and they suddenly seem unattainable. But by choosing only one goal every month that problem is solved and you'll be far more likely to stick to it!
It also only takes 21 days to create a habit, so once the month is up you should have got into the habit or the routine of your new resolution and it should have started to become just part of life or something you don't have to think about as much. This means when the next month draws in and you have a new resolution to start you won't be having to focus on the previous months, but instead you're working towards your goal for that month whilst also hopefully staying on top of your previous resolution.

New Year......New Me?


'New Year, new me' is a phrase that we hear a lot in January with people aiming to better themselves and making all these resolutions that are often to do with losing weight, quitting bad habits and generally being a 'better' person, but is this really a healthy and positive way to start a new year?
What if you simply devoted this year to loving and accepting yourself?


Instead of starting the year making huge resolutions to change dramatic things about yourself,  I believe it's far more positive and often far more achievable to start the new with specific aims and intentions that have the purpose of making us feel happier and healthier. These intentions shouldn't be superficial and they shouldn't have a 'to be done by...' deadline, they should just be positive intentions to carry with you throughout the year with no pressure or intensity.
